The AIAC 2007 Annual Survey Backgrounder

AIABC Members:

Please take the time to participate in the Aerospace Industry Associations of Canada's Annual Statistical Survey.

AIAC has conducted its “Aerospace Statistical Survey” annually since 2001. The survey asks for information on your company's 2007 performance, as well as projections for 2008. This information is vital to AIAC’s efforts to assess the current state and future of Canada's aerospace industry and, importantly, its overall contribution and importance to the Canadian economy. This survey is a key element in contributing to an understanding of the Canadian aerospace industry amongst those we seek to influence.

The survey results allow AIAC to advance the interests of member companies and the obtained statistical information:

· Supports AIAC’s advocacy and communication efforts on behalf of its Membership;

· Determines the competitive position of the sector and its needs for present and future federal and provincial government policies and programs;

· Provides a benchmark for year-over-year national and international comparisons;

· Is used by Canadian aerospace companies for their business development efforts, and by government departments, media, and educational institutions.

Please be assured that the data you submit will be treated as business confidential information. Only aggregate data that does not give insight into the operations and performance of individual firms will be released by AIAC. A report on the aggregated results of the 2007 survey will be published in July 2008 in advance of the Farnborough Air Show.
