Aircraft Propeller Systems Technician (CAMC)
Aircraft Reciprocating Engine Technicians disassemble, clean, inspect, rework parts, assemble and test piston engines and their manufacturer installed components and accessories and prepare them for shipment. The technician must be able to interpret technical manuals and drawings and be mechanically adept. These technicians are thoroughly familiar with safe work practices, the rules and regulations, and the quality assurance systems affecting their work and workplace.

| WHAT CERTIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED? |

Diploma: None
Apprenticeship: A minimum of 5 years experience in the trade; or
a minimum of 3 years in the trade and 2 years in other related trades. Technicians holding a P41 license are exempt from completing a logbook but must send a copy of their current license with their application.
Licensing: Certification from CAMC
Recurrent Training: Employer determined.

$21.00 - $25.00 per hour

Aircraft Propeller Systems Technicians can expect to work in hangars or shop environments.

| WHERE ARE THE JOBS? |
There are few maintenance organizations that employ aircraft propeller systems technicians as they are specialized in an area other than jet aircraft. There is little opportunity to move to larger maintenance organizations with the exception of regional carriers. |
